Health Safety and Wellbeing Business Partner - Aged Care - Melbourne VIC

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Business Partner to come join the team in Melbourne VIC.

This role works within the People and Culture Division and in partnership with management and staff, you will contribute to organisational performance and employee engagement by: enabling the organisation to function effectively and efficiently through sourcing, developing, rewarding and retaining competent staff; enhancing the organisation’s performance through assisting management and staff to become superior performers; and, when significant change is required, transforming the organisation in the achievement of new directions and goals.
  
This is a key role in the Health Safety and Wellbeing Team whose primary purpose is to provide effective Safety Management System (including workers compensation / injury management) that facilitates legislative compliance whilst supporting operations to provide safe and efficient work across all divisions

About You:

- Diploma level or higher qualification in Safety or other relevant industry experience
- 5+ years experience in a safety role
- Good knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation in Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia
- Experience in dealing with Health, Safety and Wellbeing a large diverse employer
- Demonstrated ability to interpret, action and ensure compliance with WHS legislation, codes of practice and other requirements
- Thorough knowledge of administrative and procedural aspects of respective state Work Cover Authorities (WorkSafe)
- Demonstrated ability to coach and to build line capability
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills to ensure managers and workers understand and accept their own obligations and responsibilities
- Training and facilitation skills including presenting to small groups
- Ability to implement safety systems and maintain safety standards
- Knowledge of Aged Care and/or Community Care/Services sectors
- Experience in managing staff
- Ability to work independently and bring “can do” attitude
- Able to work in collaboration and show empathy as required
- Return to work experience
- Satisfactory Police Check
- Compliance with Company’s Vaccination Policy and Government Health Orders - Driver’s License
